Teach her to have Self Acceptance

Blog

Today we are going to talk about self-acceptance and what I mean by self-acceptance is do you like who you are, do you accept who you are right now. Do you feel good about who you are? Self-acceptance gives you peace and freedom in your life. You can be who you want to be and not feel bad about it.

I know this can be hard especially with social media and our phones and seeing everyone’s highlight reels and that can turn our thoughts into never-ending spirals of crazy thoughts. It’s tough!

I want to help you with some tips and ideas for learning to love who are, accepting who you are all while you are still growing and striving to achieve all that you want in your life. The cool part about self-acceptance is that you can have it and still strive for the goals you have in your life.

Tips for Self Acceptance

Think about what makes you so unique and different.

I want you to celebrate those things and see that you were made that way for a reason. You are a gift, and you need to celebrate that. Think of yourself as a gift. Of all the billions of people in the world there is only 1 you in this moment in time. You were made for a reason and put here for a reason. You need to cherish that and know that this life and who you are is a true gift. Your silly quirks and your undeniable beauty is a gift. Remember that.

Know that perfection will never happen!

Perfection is not something to ever strive for. Perfection is not attainable. If you want everything to be so perfect than you are just setting yourself up for disappointment because that’s just not how life works.  Truly accepting who you are is.

Use your affirmations.

Talk to yourself each day as if you are your best friend. I am enough, I am worthy, I am brave, I belong right here in this moment. Affirmation’s work. Affirmations can change your mindset and change the way you preserve yourself. I have a great post about affirmations and I also sell affirmation cards in my shop. They are a practice and something that can help you grow on the inside and if you practice and start to change your mindset about yourself you will grow to accept yourself.

Try to show up as yourself.

Every single day show up as you. Little by little when you do this your life will begin to change. When you show up as ourselves and not what others want us to be we start to become who we were meant to be. We start to feel good in our own skin. Trying to be someone else and do things that we really don’t want to do is not a great path for learning to accept yourself. It’s the total opposite.

Self-acceptance doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a journey and a path with ups and downs but when we take action and think about what makes us so unique and stop trying to be so perfect all the time our mindset changes.

It’s not about making others happy it’s about us showing up as our true authentic self. Truly accepting who we are doesn’t mean that everything is perfect now so I can accept who I am. It’ s accepting who we are in spite of being a human and not being perfect.
