Having self-worth or good self-esteem takes practice and work. Having good self-esteem means you respect who you are and you’re confident in yourself and your abilities. Today I am sharing 4 tips to build your self esteem.

Building confidence in ourselves and building our self esteem can help us through our entire lives and help us in everything we do.

When I was young, I didn’t have good self-esteem. I cared what other people thought of me. I was afraid to pick out a new pair of sneakers because I didn’t know what was cool enough. So sad!

Once you understand that you have the power inside of you to help yourself build your own self-esteem, that’s when everything changes. That’s why I am here. That’s why I show up for you each and every week to give teach you tools that you can use to help yourself become more confident.

So, let’s get started on a few tips and tools you can use to help build up your self esteem and help you feel good about who you are.

4 Tips to build up her Self-Esteem

Talk kindly to yourself

Don’t put yourself down when you make mistakes. Lift yourself up and talk to yourself as you would your best friend! Use affirmations!

Don’t compare yourself to others

You are your own person with your own strengths and values. No two people are the same, so don’t compare yourself to anyone else. Comparing brings you down and hurts your self-esteem. Try not to do this!

Find things you love to do and do them!

Do you love to paint, draw, dance, fish, journal, sing? GO AND DO THOSE THINGS! When we discover things that lights us up and make us happy, we immediately can feel good about ourselves and what we are doing. Having something you love to do and can get excited about changes our mood, boosts our confidence and our self-esteem.

Surround yourself with friends that lift you up.

Make sure that your friend group is positive and kind because if you are around others that make you feel bad about yourself or make you feel less, then you need to find another friend group. Those behaviors will hurt your self esteem and confidence. Make sure you are surrounding yourself with friend’s that make you laugh, lift you up, make you smile and feel good about yourself.
