I’ve been on a journey to feel better inside and to tame my anxieties I have suffered with my entire life. What I’ve come to learn, now that I’m in my 40’s, is that feeling good inside is not a luxury; it’s essential for our overall well-being and happiness. I’ve discovered that when I do little things in my life every day that make me feel good, I’m happier, calmer, less stressed, and I feel so good inside. I want to share with you how to find self-care tools that work for you. This is a snapshot of my woman’s guide to feeling better inside FREEBIE that has been so helpful for so many women. What are Self-Care Tools

I don’t think about self-care the way that everyone else does. The random massage or pedicure once every other month is not what life is about. I need things in my everyday life that fill me up to help me feel good inside. My entire life I struggled with anxiety and my goal in my life now, in my 40’s, is to feel happy, confident and good inside myself.

I went on a journey to find little things that make me happy. They are things you can get at a store to things that you can’t. These little things are now my self-care tools that I incorporate into my life every single day.

My Self-Care Tools

My self-care tools are personal to me. In the next paragraph I’m going to share how you can find yours! I thought sharing some of mine would be helpful for you to understand how to find some for yourself.

  1. Getting up early
  2. Working Out
  3. My face wash routine
  4. My morning routine
  5. Listening to my favorite podcasts

How To Find Your Self-Care Tools

Recognize your needs.

Assess how you’re feeling – physically, emotionally, and mentally. Ask yourself: What do I need right now to feel better? What would help me recharge and de-stress? What would bring me joy or fulfillment?

Figure out what physical and emotional self-care tools would benefit you.

You may need more emotional charging self-care tools such as journaling, meditation, spending time in nature, gratitude practice, listening to music. There are also physical tools that could be helpful such as exercise, healthy eating, more sleep, or stretching.

Pay Attention

Notice how each activity impacts your mood, energy levels, and overall well-being.

Create a list

Keep a running list of self-care activities that you enjoy and that make you feel good.

Keep them simple

The simpler the better. What I want you to remember is that these are things that need to happen almost every day. They aren’t the annual massage or pedicure. They are the little things that we can do every day that fill our cup that are simple to do!
