Having a connection with yourself, your family and the world is so important to maintain your mental health. I fully believe that creativity can help you do this! I am here to show you how creativity can create connection!
The definition of creativity is “the use of the imagination or original ideas.”
There are so many forms of creativity. When you spend some time being creative you change your attitude and your well-being. You may be thinking “I’m not creative.” You may not even know what type of creativity you would prefer to do. The key is to spend some time exploring and trying new things to see what you like. You may just find something that you are passionate about.
Being creative doesn’t just mean art. Here is a list of all different ways you can be creative.
- hand lettering
- baking
- music
- cooking
- sewing
- decorating
- scrapbooking
- painting
- gardening
When I wanted to spend some more quality time with my daughter I decided that creativity had to be part of it! The Adventure List my daughter and I created was a great way for us to start being creative together. When you get creative with someone it bonds you. You are sharing your gifts and insecurities with that person. The act of creativity means you are stepping outside your comfort zone.
To fully let yourself go you have to have to be vulnerable and what better way to connect with someone than through expressing your creativity.
Creativity has so many benefits too!
- Stress and anxiety relief
- Sense of purpose
- Freedom
- Helps you express yourself
- Creates connection
